Target is tops in corporate solar-energy users (slideshow)

Target Corp. once again ranks among the top corporate users of solar power in the country, according to the Solar Energy Industries Association.

The report, which grades corporations on their solar-energy output, put the Minneapolis-based retailer ahead of retail rival Walmart Inc. (No. 2 overall), and No. 3 Prologis Inc., a real estate investment trust. E-commerce giant Amazon.com moves up to No. 10 after not even being ranked last year, according to the SEIA. (The report also includes an interactive map that shows where solar facilities are located and lets you group them by sector.)

Target installed more than 40 megawatts worth solar equipment in 2017, more than 23 states. It now has more than 200 megawatts of solar capacity.
